Liberty Live is the ministry that livestreams our Sunday service through our website to people who are unable to come to our services. Liberty Live also serves as a front door for those who are thinking about visiting Liberty Church. It helps people stay connected while traveling away from New York City for work or holiday. It also allows us to include family members and prayer partners who live elsewhere in the world but who want to be involved and support what Liberty Church is doing in our city.
We’d like to introduce you to a few people from our online community.
Liberty Live travels well
Grace is an actress traveling through Europe, the Middle East, and Asia on tour. She has been a part of Liberty Church since the beginning, but while she tours internationally, she tunes in to Liberty Live almost every Sunday. “Being at Liberty in person is the best, but Liberty Live is a close second! The community feeling travels well—the time between worship and the message is always one of my favorite parts.” Seeing people she knows on stage for announcements, prayer, and church news “makes it feel like home.” While she feels that worship does not feel the same when watching it on a computer or mobile device, Grace finds that the message translates similarly to being there in person. “Seeing the whole service makes you feel less like a spectator and more like a participant.”
“I love that Liberty Live allows me to be connected to my church while I travel for work. It’s great to be on the same page with Liberty’s current mission, goals, and growth.”
Liberty Live connects families
Brigid and Craig live in Murrieta, California. They started watching the services when their daughter joined the worship team at Liberty. Brigid says, “This is personal to us because the live stream gives us a peek at our daughter’s life and the people in it, since so many of them have a large impact on her life. In addition to that we truly believe what Liberty is doing is so important specifically in New York where community is so difficult to find. For those who don’t live there, they don’t understand how much a church community can change your life.”
“I personally like the fact that you get to meet the Liberty team, via internet, and seeing the pastors preach makes you feel, in a way, that you are part of the service. A lot goes on visually that you don’t get when listening to the podcast. Also, you are able to see the entire service, which is important to us as well. We do go back and listen to various podcasts on occasion when we want to revisit a sermon.”
Some of Brigid and Craig’s family have started watching Liberty Live as well, even though they don’t regularly attend a church.
