The Company is a ministry of Liberty Church that gathers men around the biblical premise that “as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17) and the belief that men are shaped by the company they keep (1 Corinthians 15:33).
On Thursday night, Pastor Steve Kelly from the Wave Church inspired our men to have high expectations for life, taking from the Bible both positive and negative examples of men who operated in their strength when they were full of faith. He also described his father, who turned his life around and lived till his dying day to see people find Jesus and be set free from addiction. “That’s a real man,” Steve said. “Not a perfect man, a broken man—but God can use broken men.”
Steve also introduced his friend, a former Navy SEAL, who shared what he learned through his training: how to live with integrity in the little things and how to see difficulty as a test of his commitment to his goals and to his friends.
The September gathering was the last Company night of the year, but each of our communities offers Community Groups for men to build friendships and help each other on the journey of becoming more like Christ, the quintessential man.
