Liberty Kids

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14

It has always been the desire of the leadership at Liberty Church to be a generational community, so the children’s ministry is one that is very near to our hearts. Liberty Kids is not just a babysitting service; it is our desire to raise children in a loving, Christ-centered environment.

There’s no one better to lead that mission than our Lead Pastor Andi’s Mom, Mavis Green. To Mavis, the family dynamic is at the core of life, so Liberty Kids is a very natural place to offer her time and energy. She’s had a career that centers around assisting mothers and fathers with newborns at home, which is a real asset as she equips the Liberty Kids team with the necessary knowledge and training needed for kids ministry.

To get a better idea of what the Liberty Kids ministry is all about, here are some frequently asked questions.

What does the typical Liberty Kids routine look like?

The Sunday morning routine typically is this:
- Children are signed in and each given a sticker (parents must present a matching sticker in order to sign child out)
- 1st playtime - music, toys, and interaction with teachers and parents
- Worship - kids songs and instruments
- Teaching - a lesson from the Bible and activities that go along with the main theme for the day
- Craft time
- Snack time - usually juice and crackers
- 2nd playtime (usually with a worship DVD playing in the background)
- Checkout - where we find that many kids are NOT ready to leave yet!

The curriculum is Christ-centered, including Bible stories and worship. We teach children the same lessons but at different learning levels depending on their age.

What makes Liberty Kids different from other forms of childcare?

At Liberty kids the teachers engage in a real relationship with the children and care about each one individually.Training up children early in Christ is so important. If they learn His love is real through teaching and godly examples in these formative years they will carry the impact of His love and character the rest of their lives.

How are they supervised?
We have a wonderful volunteer team with at least 3-5 team members working together on any given week, and each classroom always has a minimum of 2 team members supervising.

How is the Liberty Kids team trained?

Each member must:
- attend our “Liberty Church 101″ class
- attend church regularly, usually for 6 months before volunteering
- undergo background check approval
- take part in structured training classes

How does the team take care of childcare issues that may arise?

The team is able to contact parents in the service if there are any special circumstances. However they’re well trained and able to handle most typical events in a child’s day from emotional moments to minor bumps or shyness. The team is also excellent at helping sooth any fears or separation anxiety. Each child is unique and our team is great at helping them individually fit in and feel comfortable.

Additional childcare info:

  • Children have their own bathroom facilities that are clearly marked for their use alone.
  • Parents with newborns/young children have the option of watching the Sunday message from the parent’s room.
  • If there is an issue that cannot be resolved by the team, the child’s number will be displayed on the screen in the service so parents can attend to them.

The registration process for a first-time guest takes only a few moments, so please feel free to join us for our Sunday services. We’d love to meet you and your little ones!
