Liberty Sisterhood Christmas Party - Fri Dec 7th

1 Comment 28 November 2024

It’s that time of year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and imagine sleigh bells ringing with snow glistening under the city lights, eating Christmas treats and warming up with our favorite hot cocoa or Starbucks Gingerbread Latte while decorating our trees with colorful ornaments, luminous fixtures and garlands.

In that holiday spirit, all the women of Liberty Church are invited for a night of extended praise & worship, prayer and to hear from special guest, Stella Reed, lead pastor of the NY Dream Center.

Stella, along with her husband, Brad, and two children, Emma and Tyler, moved to New York City in June of 2009 to be a part of the Dream Center church plant. For many years, she served with her husband under the leadership of Pastor Matthew Barnett as youth and young adults pastors at the Los Angeles Dream Center and Angelus Temple before being sent to NYC. Together, they believe God has given them a life long mission to build a thriving church in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world. Join us as she talks about her adventures in NYC.

So come dressed in your holiday best and bring a plate of your favorite Christmas treat to share on Friday, Dec. 7th @ 7:30pm, 359 Broadway, Floor #2.

Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you there,

Andi Andrew

Seed Offering - December 2012

1 Comment 27 November 2024

This December is a pivotal moment for our church - our Seed Offering for 2012.

We believe God is calling us to expand our vision and to sow for a harvest in New York City and the nations. Every person can play a part. Everyone matters.

Our Hope

This December we’re believing to raise $100,000 through our Seed Offering for the expansion of the vision of our church. This is over and above our regular budgeted tithes of $50,000 that are needed for ongoing church operations.

Liberty Church Brooklyn - $80,000

Next Fall we launch our Liberty community in Brooklyn. The need is great and we believe the time is now to help reclaim what was once called “the city of churches”.

Children’s Cup, Zimbabwe - $10,000

With 80% unemployment, the 300,000 people of Sauerstown in Bulawayo struggle to simply survive. Huge opportunities exist for us to provide sustainable care for the children of this community.

Liberty City - $10,000

Our Neighborly initiative has touched the lives of many New Yorkers facing truly challenging situations. New resources are needed to expand the work of Liberty City for even greater impact.

Our Opportunity

We’re calling the church to pray and for each person to consider their part to play in this Seed Offering. We can all do something, and together we can do something extraordinary.

Three Ways To Give (by Dec 31st)

1. Online
Give by wire, credit or debit at www.libertychurchnyc.com/giving (and select “Seed Offering” from the menu as you give).

2. Sunday Services
Use the special envelopes to give by cash, check or card and give it along with your tithes during the service.

3. Mail
Checks can be sent to PO Box 672, New York NY 10012
(write “Seed Offering” in the memo).

Zimbabwe Trip: Gallery

1 Comment 23 November 2024

Four of our team just returned from a missions trip to Zimbabwe with Children’s Cup. After a very successful partnership in the last few years we sent a team to explore opportunities to build a long-term, sustainable project.

Paul Andrew, Steve Trayner, Brian Harper & Andrew Matusik spent 8 days on the ground from Harare to Bulawayo and came back full of vision and with a conviction that God has supernaturally opened doors of opportunity in Zimbabwe.

Here are a few of their iPhone photos… highlights of the trip. Stay tuned for more details in the months ahead and pray with us for wisdom as we seek His plans & timing.

The Search For Our Brooklyn Pastors

No Comments 21 November 2024

In the Fall of 2013 we’re planting the third community of Liberty Church in the heart of Brooklyn.

The search has now begun in earnest for those whom God has appointed to be Pastors of this new community. Brooklyn is the borough once known as the “City of Churches”, yet from our apartment we see two beautiful church buildings that in recent years were converted to apartments. It’s a tangible reminder of the need that exists for life-giving churches to reach 2.6 million Brooklynites.

If Brooklyn were a city on its own it’d be the fourth largest city in America. The opportunity is enormous yet challenges are substantial. This will not be an assignment for the faint-hearted or inexperienced. But somewhere out there this vision is growing in the hearts of its future leaders.

Our prayer is that God would stir the hearts of an incredible couple to join us in the establishing of His church across our city. A couple with a heart for the Lord and the lost, a passion for ministry, a calling to this city, and a capacity to lead. They very likely have children of their own, a track record of proven ministry, and the values of Liberty Church already in their veins. Our hope is they would begin ministry long before our launch day.

Would you join with us in praying for the right leaders to be set aside by God, and that He would make plain to them and to us that He has chosen them “for such a time as this”?

Christmas Tree Chopping

No Comments 15 November 2024

What better way to spend the Saturday after Thanksgiving than to go on a fun Christmas tree outing on November 24th at the 100-acre Anne-Ellen Christmas Tree Farm & Shop in Manalapan, NJ (43.5 miles from NYC).

Come find that perfect Christmas tree to chop yourself or have one of the tree farm guys cut one for you. They will also net the tree to make it easier to take home. Tree prices begin at $35 (cash and credit cards accepted) and come in many varieties: White Pine, Norway Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, and pre-cut Frazier Fir and Balsam.

This will be a fun outing for the whole family to enjoy: hot cocoa, cookies, farm animals, a gift and ornament shop, wreaths, mistletoe, and more. So bring your camera and make new memories with your Liberty Church family. Also, depending on the weather, it may be muddy or snowing, so be sure to wear proper boots and dress warmly. To sign up or get more information including carpooling options, please email events@libertychurchnyc.com.
