This year has already proved to be unprecedented as we hosted our first ever Child Sponsorship Weekend February 21st - February 23rd. It was beautiful to watch all three of our NYC communities rally together to practically exemplify what Paul spoke of on Vision Sunday - To love fiercely, give radically, and pray dangerously for the 150 children living near Liberty Church Zimbabwe who were sent our way in desperate need of sponsorship.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored a child, or multiple children as some of you did. We were sent profiles of 150 children this weekend, and your generosity meant that every single child in need was sponsored!
If you weren’t able to join us on Child Sponsorship Weekend, but you’re interested in supporting a child who is part of our Liberty Church Zimbabwe family, you can do so online.
Two important factors to consider when sponsoring a child: this is a financial commitment, and a personal commitment. Not only do the children look forward to your monthly financial support that provides them food, clothing for school, education, medical needs, and discipleship, but they also look forward to your letters, photographs, and personal connection. Many of these children have never received a letter in the mail, so receiving your love and support means the world to them. And you get to look forward to hearing from them too!
If you are ready to sponsor a child, here are the steps to take:
- Visit: http://www.
onechildmatters.org/ - a partner organization of Children’s Cup. - Hover over ‘Child Sponsorship’ in the menu bar. Click ‘Choose A Child.’
- In the left drop-down menu titled ‘Sponsor A Child’ scroll down to the country ‘Zimbabwe.’
- All children featured that are part of Project “Newmansford Child Development Center” or Project “Hugh Beadle” are children in the vicinity of Liberty Church Zimbabwe. Both are schools that our missions teams visit.
- Read the descriptions of the children, and click ‘Sponsor This Child’ when you know you have the child that God has put on your heart to sponsor.
- Continue setting up your preferred monthly payment - all payment options are listed on the website, and include automatic debit, recurring credit card, or sending a monthly check. You can also choose which week of the month you are billed, and manage your account online.
- Email us to let us know the name of the child you sponsored and that you are officially a part of the wonderful group of men and women who are sponsoring a child in Zimbabwe!
