Liberty Church is a non-denominational Christian church. Through the Association of Related Churches we are a part of a wide network of over 400 life-giving churches in the United States.
Liberty Church began in June 2010 when Paul & Andi moved from Sydney, Australia to New York City with their three kids, and have since added a fourth.
With just a few friends and family, they started meeting around a park bench in Central Park each Sunday morning that summer. But it wasn’t long before it became clear that God was gathering people to this new community so they began the first “Community Group” to help disciple people and build relationships. On Sunday nights, Paul & Andi opened up their home for Family Dinners, and packed out their Brooklyn apartment with as many as 40 people sharing a meal.
Before long, Liberty Church had its first community in Tribeca, and now just a few years later it has three communities in New York City (Soho, Union Square and Brooklyn), as well as one in Zimbabwe.
As we continue to grow in strength at our communities, we are looking toward the next few years and locations that fit our “2020 Vision” to impact 10 communities in 10 years by the year 2020. We’re excited about what God is doing at Liberty in New York City and Zimbabwe.
And as our story continues…we can’t wait to see what God has in store for us next.
