Our Team

Liberty Church really is a team. Alongside our Lead Pastors, Paul & Andi Andrew, are a world-class team of staff and volunteers.

Paul Andrew

Lead Pastor

Paul was born and raised in Sydney, Australia and gave his life to Jesus at age 16. Since then his passion has been the local church. More than two decades of full-time ministry have spanned church, government and community-based organizations. In 2008, Paul launched his own business called The Leadership Coach, and in his spare time he continues to work around the world in the corporate sector as a professional speaker and management consultant. Today as Lead Pastor of Liberty Church with Andi he also serves as a coach for the Association of Related Churches, helping others launch new churches especially in urban centers and the northeast.

Andi Andrew

Lead Pastor

Andi grew up in Spokane, Washington and met Paul in Bible college in Australia. She truly is an outstanding and sought-after preacher and carries the leadership of Liberty Church together with Paul. Andi’s years of ministry have shaped her with a passion to see people experience real freedom and it’s little wonder her leadership and ministry have such a lasting impact. As well as building the church, she’s blessed with four incredible kids…three boys and a little princess. They’re not the normal New York family but they’re convinced normal is over-rated anyway.

Parker & Jessi Green

Pastors - Union Square

Parker moved from the West Coast to lead our Union Square Community. He and Jessi, a Long Island native, were married in 2013, and are in love with their neighborhood and their dog, Nugget. Parker has poured his enthusiasm for discipleship and generational leadership into shaping systems for Community Groups, Next Steps and The Company. Jessi heads up the Social Media Team, and loves that we live in a time where you can “go into all the world” with your thumbs. Jessi is passionate about sharing her faith and loves to equip people to minister to their communities through evangelism. Parker enjoys long walks on the beach (but not too long). He is prone to eat at any time, and is a long-suffering Washington Huskies fan.

Justin & Kristen Tarsiuk

Pastors - Brooklyn & Creative Director

Justin and Kristen moved from LA to Brooklyn in 2014 with their son Rocco. Our church has felt the impact of their eagerness to dive in to fill areas of need, their “#firedup” enthusiasm for New York City and God’s house, and their years of experience in leadership, ministry, and loving people. Justin and Kristen are both football fans, and while Kristen is trying new cuisines and finding beautiful vintage things, Justin enjoys studying God’s Word and kayaking through urban waterways. As Creative Director, Kristen is a coach to our artists and performers — directing video, visual experience, dance, drama, photography and graphic design teams. The Tarsiuks’ decision to move to Brooklyn came after the desires God had been stirring in them over a year and a half began “fitting together” with the call for pastors to lead our Liberty Church community in Brooklyn.

Bob & Mavis Green

Ministry Leaders - Family & Pastoral Care

Bob & Mavis moved to NYC from the beaches of Orange County, CA about two years ago to help build Liberty with their daughter, Andi and her husband, Paul. They’re “Poppy” and “Nonni” to their four Andrew grandkids in NYC, three in Seattle and one in Australia. Their passion is to see family and community experienced in a godly way, free from guilt and shame, and to champion generational purpose and blessing. Through God’s love, they hope to see people healed on every level and receive the love they’ve only hoped and dreamed to be true. They desire to see people find a home at Liberty because it expresses the Father’s love tangibly. Besides loving people, Bob’s middle name is Vannaman, which epitomizes his past surf lifestyle. He likes coffee and hamburgers. Mavis loves horses, science fiction, bacon, dark chocolate and sea salt, sunrises and sunsets, and being a birth and postpartum doula.

Matt Sadler

Central Ministries Director

Matt Sadler is the go-to guru for making sure every area of church life with their specific functions is working well and speaking to each other. He oversees web, finance, and creative teams, as well as leading the Central Ministries that reach across our communities. To the multi-faceted aspects of his job for the church, Matt brings years of business experience working for “the man” in customer-facing roles, business-to-business negotiations and contracts, operations and technology, marketing and creative and financial reengineering. Growing up, Matt had a dream to be an outfielder for the Detroit Tigers. It didn’t happen. His three favorite things are pizza, pizza and pizza. And yes, he’s married to the amazing Dawn Sadler. His mission statement is Proverbs 16:3 (MSG) and his catchphrase is “Boom-shaka-laka”.

Dee Tate

Operations Manager

Dee was born in Manhattan but grew up in Spain and throughout the United States before landing back in New York by way of Oregon. Describing Dee’s overall role as Operations Manager would be only slightly easier than being a church without her. She administrates the church office, organizes volunteers, and coordinates the backend of the services at each of the communities. Figuring out the role as the church grows is one of the adventures Dee enjoys as well as praying with the staff and seeing all that goes on behind the scenes to build a church like Liberty. Dee also leads on the worship team and is a doting auntie to baby Max. One of her favorite things is to see people “blessed by surprise”.

Emily Kirkendoll

Finance Administrator

Emily and her husband, Heath, moved from Toronto in 2009, and since then have two hilarious kids. She and her family are definitely “from here” now, and Liberty has been their church and family for the last two years. What she really loves about bookkeeping for Liberty is being closely integrated with the staff, benefitting from their leadership in all aspects, and seeing the inner workings of the church as it grows. She really enjoys the problem solving aspect of her role as the finances of the church are constantly adapting to each developmental stage of growth. She believes the numbers don’t tell the whole story, but they show the heart of its givers, its leaders, and the vision God is leading Liberty toward. She is also one of Liberty’s contributing bloggers and her devotionals in particular help challenge us to grow in the Word and closer to Christ.

Jenn Nelson

Worship Director

Jenn is a Southern California native, but can safely now say she’s obsessed with New York City. She is incredibly passionate about worship and bringing the presence of God to those who have not yet experienced how good He is. She loves seeing people find the freedom that comes with living their lives for a loving and graceful God. She also lends her creativity to Liberty as a graphic designer. She unashamedly drinks iced coffee year round, and has a thing for football and glitter.

Janelle Ortiz

Missions Director

Janelle was born in New York but grew up in Northern California. She has a desire to help people who are greatly in need and loves to see a family unit stick together and pull through hard times. She became passionate about missions during trips to Swaziland and Zimbabwe. There, she saw people find their identity, especially the women, many who were stepping into new roles as head of household. In addition, Janelle heads guest relations for She is Free and is executive assistant to Lead Pastors Paul and Andi. She loves the color pink, beaches, Suits, and travel — listing Fiji and Venice among the most magical places she’s visited.
