We believe that God’s heart is for people; therefore, God’s heart is for cities. We are a church-planting church, and, with an eye trained on the 20/20 Vision that God has placed in our hearts to impact 10 communities in 10 years, Liberty Church seeks opportunities to grow and invest in local churches.
Since the launch of our first community in New York in 2011, Liberty has sown financially into more than 45 church plants in cities around the country and throughout the world. Our desire is to see the promise fulfilled that “all nations will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:1–3).
While building strength in our existing communities in New York and Zimbabwe, the church is already being led to prepare for the next place God would have Liberty plant. This Sunday, Paul Andrew shared a vision he received of putting a stake in the ground in a neighborhood in New York, as well as other specific cities that are coming into focus. “This is not the time for big announcements or deadlines,” Paul explained. “But when God shows me something like that I have the responsibility to get ready so that we can start from a place of strength.”
Already God is bringing people to Liberty with a call to lead new endeavors through our church. And with the Seed Offering this month, we as a church will be dedicating funds for future opportunities to plant new churches. For those of us who call Liberty home, this is an opportunity to pay it forward, take part in God’s mission to restore lives, and be a blessing to new cities.
“We sow finance; we reap lives.”
