Last Sunday, Paul Andrew gave a report of the growth of Liberty Church over the past year, how the increase we’ve experienced has made a difference in people’s lives, and how it is tied to the generosity of its givers in last year’s Seed Offering. “It’s good to remind ourselves that God can do great things when we sow together.” Watch the video below to hear Paul tell the Soho community the great report.
“There is a straight line between your generosity and the difference you’re making in people’s lives.”
In December 2013, Liberty Church with their partners raised over $250,000 to sow into key initiatives that have increased the reach of the church and impacted lives from Brooklyn to Zimbabwe to our own local neighborhoods. Notably:
- Planting a new Liberty Church community in Brooklyn and adding Brooklyn Community Pastors to our pastoral staff
- Staffing, sending missionaries, and breaking ground on building projects to develop our Liberty Church Zimbabwe community, while meeting practical and spiritual needs in the community
- Investing in the core strengths of our church by bringing on Central Ministries staff to enhance our churchwide events and ministries, and by growing the worship and pastoral care teams
- Reengineering Liberty City‘s efforts to be a local expression of our local church communities giving back to our neighborhoods
“I believe,” Paul says, “that it is undoubtedly a direct result of people’s generosity, the way that you’ve given, the strategic investments we’ve made together in the capacity and strength of the church, and the way that we’ve sown generously beyond ourselves. I believe that when we do that, we reap a blessing.”
Every year in December we set an audacious goal to raise funds—above the tithes that support the operating budget of the church—for investment in new opportunities in missions, church planting, and expansion. Click here to find out about the vision for 2015 and to give now toward our goal.
