The new year rings in this week, and Paul and Andi have cast vision for 2015—investing in New Cities and missions partnerships, New Ministries in church life, New Strength in the communities we’ve planted in Brooklyn and Zimbabwe, and New Possibilities for purchasing permanent property in New York City.
There are only a couple days left to sow into the 2014 Seed Offering, for Liberty Church to reach our giving goal and for individuals to have their tax-deductible giving on their 2014 giving statement.
Around our city, we see the rich history of magnificent church buildings that were purchased with people’s tithes and offerings but that are being reused for different purposes in this generation. “We’re looking to turn that around,” Paul said in Sunday’s service. That’s why we’re devoting part of our Seed Offering to unlocking new possibilities for doors that can stay open through the week to change people’s lives.
These are exciting times for us as a church, and an opportunity for each person who supports Liberty to sow what won’t last forever into what will.
Paul says, “If we give flippantly or haphazardly, we miss the opportunity to do it as a call…to keep the faith in giving.” As investors in missions and church planting, we’re putting faith in the future God has called us to and investing our natural resource in something that is eternal. “We go first for the many who come after us. We go first for the generations to come.”
